Managing Director Rob Woodward enjoyed a fantastic day at Celtic Manor playing golf to raise needed funds for the Midlands Air Ambulance.  The MAAC Corporate Golf Day has established itself as one of the most prestigious, enjoyable and professional Corporate Golf events on the business calendar competing for the sought-after MAAC Trophy. The day concluded with a sumptuous three-course dinner, entertainment, charity raffle and awards ceremony.

Rob said “The event was an excellent opportunity to meet and establish new and lasting relationships with businesses and individuals that all have a common interest, golf and supporting the lifesaving work of MAAC.  Thankfully the weather was kind and perfect for the day all round!

Rob was joined by Rob Wager and Julian Lambert of our warewashing equipment partner Maidaid Halcyon who also supported the event and had a great time enjoying some great golf and raising funds for a fantastic lifesaving charity.

Funded entirely by donations, the charity relies on support from local people and businesses, to raise the £9 million needed to undertake on average 2,000 missions every year.  Since 1991, MAAC has responded to over 52,000 missions, making it one of the busiest air ambulance services in the UK.

Operating from strategically located regional airbases at RAF Cosford in Shropshire, Strensham in Worcestershire and Tatenhill in Staffordshire, our air ambulances can reach 90% of the region within eight minutes. Each aircraft carries a crew comprising a pilot, two paramedics or a paramedic and flight doctor, plus full life-support medical equipment. Three rapid response vehicles are deployed when the helicopters are unable to fly, due to bad weather for example.  Our Sales Director, Mike Nixon is a rapid qualified volunteer first responder for West Midlands Ambulance Service.

Midlands Air Ambulance Charity (MAAC) operates and funds three air ambulances covering six Midlands counties including Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Worcestershire and the West Midlands.
