For the 2nd year running, we decided to celebrate National Hot Chocolate Day on January 31st to raise funds for our nominated charity, Midlands Air Ambulance. Unlike last year, where funds were raised in-house only, Julie Smith, Sales Administrator at Abraxas Catering thought it would be good to spread the word to neighbouring companies. Julie added, “I asked our team if they could bring in some chocolate cakes/cookies, and thanks to some great cooks, we had a fantastic display, along with hot chocolate supplied by Knighton Foods, and of course, I had to bring along squirty cream and marshmallows!”
The weather was great the few days before, but it decided to rain and was very windy on the actual day, but this did not put off new and familiar faces to help support MAAC and enjoy a hot chocolate drink and an assortment of treats to take back with them.
Julie added, “I was ‘café manager’ from 10am – 12pm and in that time we managed to raise a fantastic £90.30, which was brilliant” “Even the delivery drivers and our postman enjoyed a drink and cake to continue on their rounds!”
Every penny is gratefully received by MAAC, as they rely totally on donations from the public and businesses to carry on their mission in saving lives.
We are now looking forward to our next fundraising event in May, where it will be a lot more energetic and hopefully no broken bones! Watch this space….
